An international student project
Applying for Australian plants is easy, but it takes some time and careful planning. Check application deadlines with your trainer, as they may vary for each service provider. Mark important deadlines, posting mail times and make sure you fill them. There are many elements that are combined at the beginning of Australian education and it is important to be thorough and timely.
Launch the application
Once you have chosen the course and found a training provider that matches your criteria, it's time to apply.
International students usually go directly to the Australian institutions either by post or online. You can download the application forms from the institutions' websites or request forms that are sent to you. Another option is to contact your country's training office or an educational institution's overseas representative you are applying for.
Most application forms require you to submit:
your personal information
Certified Certificate of English Language Skills
from previous academic qualifications, such as academic transcripts
your preferences
summary of work experience (if applicable).
If you are still ready for your education, you can provide evidence of the latest grades until the final results are available. If the documents you submit are not in English, you must provide a certified translation.
Your selected service provider has certain requirements for English language input. If you do not meet your entry requirements, you may need to consider a different course or apply for cross-linking or basic research, which can improve your chances.
Most institutions charge a non-refundable application fee, which must be included in the application. Before submitting your application, please check the visa requirements at your local Australian Visa Office or online at the Immigration and Border Guard (DIBP) website to get a visa if your application is successful. If at any time during the search process you are not sure how to proceed, do not hesitate to contact your training provider - they will be there to assist you.
What happens next?
Once your training provider receives and evaluates your application, you will be notified of the result. It may take a few weeks, but when your application is approved, you will receive an invitation to tender and an approval notice.
Read the tender specifications carefully and check the terms and conditions. You must complete these terms before the institution issues the Notification Confirmation (CoE). You may also have to pay some of your study fees before your institution gives you an excellence.
Applying for a student visa
Now that you are approved, it's time to apply for a student visa. You can apply for your student visa either in your offer document, but you will need to submit proof of your institution before giving your student visa.
The training provider usually sends you a search package that will help you prepare for the trip to Australia. This may include information on accommodation options, affairs, financial information and program issues.
You also need to buy airline tickets, arrange an Overseas Student Health Cover and start thinking about your apartment in Australia. All about the Australian immigration points .
